Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958 under very poor conditions. Her father was a vehicle salesman and her mother was a teacher. Jennifer was the youngest of the four children in her family often accompanied her mother for her performances at the theater, and was awed by her. Jennifer's parents split when she was 5 years older. Jennifer lived the majority of her youth in British Columbia, after her mother relocated there with their four children. Jennifer did not attend school although as a kid she was extremely artistic. In Canadian schools, her experiences caused her to be often the target of bullying. The theater interest diminished during the time she was in high school which is why, as a consequence, she actively participated in plays in addition to the assistance of her mother.
